Is there a weight limit to how much a Smart Car can be driving around?

Saw online that a Smart Car can only handle about 500 lbs. at a time and wanted to ask to see if anyone could clarify this for me.|||The numbers may vary slightly depending on year and options, but the specs for the 2008 Smart Fortwo I have show a curb weight of 1852 pounds (what the car alone weighs) and a GVWR of 2315 pounds (the maximum combined car and cargo weight the car is designed for) so the total cargo and passenger capacity would be 463 pounds.

Considering it's a small 2-seater car, that allows 2 average (180 pound) people plus over 100 pounds of cargo so that's pretty reasonable. Heck, it can even hold two people my size :-)|||All cars have limits. It is rougher on the car when you go over the limit, the car will still move when you start to go over.
