Is a smart car a good car for a teen?

I turn 16 next year and I know how adorable smart cars are and they're fairly cheap. My dad is on a waiting list I'm pretty sure too. I live in the midwest so there is some bad weather during the winter, but I have backup. I'm a very cautious person and I certainly won't speed or be reckless or anything.

Anyway, is it a good choice?|||Yah i'd say so. Good on gas, and as long as your as careful as you can possibly be, you should be alright. Just remember you will lose the contest in almost any head on accident|||Smart cars are no good for anyone. They are too small to be safe. The issue is there are not enough of them on the road to generate any meaningful crash data, but when there is, and they start becoming bugs on the bumpers of bigger vehicles, people will start to realize that a miniature car that is expected to keep up with 70 mile per hour traffic and share the road where absolutely every other vehicle is bigger and heavier is a huge mistake. The real-world mileage they get can be matched or exceeded with cars that are twice its size, and to sit on a waiting list and pay twice what the car is worth in spite of the fact that the automotive press has universal dislike for several aspects of this car, such as the transmission, the fact that it gets pathetic mileage for a car of its size and weight, and the fact that it handles like crap at high speed, is a waste of time and money. You can do much better.|||defently not if you live where it snows alot then i think you should get a hybird suv with 4x4 or a suv that has all wheel drive and it doesnt matter if you drive a smart car threw snow it will slip and not move for days untill you get some towing action

so go with an suv or a small car that has all wheel drive and dunt buy a new car buy like a middle age car but not with so many miles and in good condition first learn how to drive in all the seasons then get a new car that you know will stay up with the seasons|||no

it's like the pet rock

they are very popular but until they improve the transmission it's not worth a dime
