Smart car for a learner driver in uk?

My son is going to start driving soon. We were thinking about a smart car, just a two door basic one, Anyone had any experience with with them they think would be useful?|||The smart is a reasonably good small car, and I can see why you would want him to learn with it. It's size, whillst being a great advantage and somewhat of a novelty for parking, is actually quite poor for everything else. I would say if he really likes it, go for it, if not, look at a Citroen C1; the basic model starting at 拢5995 would be best.
