How do I buy a smart car if there are no local dealers?

The nearest dealer is over 100 miles away.|||You don't. Even if you buy one, who will service it? Do you think the local garage can fix that overpriced golf cart? Not a chance.

Seriously, they aren't very smart anyway. Compared to a Hyundai Accent they are little (if any) cheaper, have half the room, are much slower, any mileage advantage is offset by the fact that premium is recommended in them. They also ride and handle worse, and will suck in the snow since they are rear wheel drive. They aren't as safe either.

if you like how they look, wait for the Scion iQ to show up at your Scion dealer, similar styling but much more room, all around better car.

http://www.scion.com/#/iQ|||Go to your local mercedes dealership. Penske automotive's contract to distribute the smarts through a independent dealer network has been terminated and Mercedes-Benz is the new sole distributor. Now many, if not most, MB dealers can sell and maintain the smart fortwo. The cheapest Hyundai Accent with an auto trans is $16k. The fortwo starts at $12.5 with the automated manual trans. It also gets the best mpg of any gas only (non-hybrid) car in america. And don't listen to Pmack about the snow either. The reason most front wheel drive cars do better in snow is because the weight of the engine is over the drive wheels. In the smart the engine is in the back so it has the same advantage as a FWD front engined car. Honestly as a rule don't listen to the people on Y!A because they have never even driven the smart. As to the IQ it starts at 16k and has less room than the smart. The car is only a foot or two longer than the smart but they shoved in a back seat so all the seats are much more cramped. Its a 3+1 meaning 3 adults and 1 child because the backseat is so small. And because the backseat is there there is almost no trunk where the smart has a surprisingly large trunk. The smart is a great car that is surprisingly large on the inside and I would recommend it completely.|||if you cant get a smart car try a horse i hear their smart or maybe a ad on Craig list or write the dealership, tell him your problem or call your local rep and tell him paint it on your drive way paint it on your roof tell your neighbor put a note in a bottle and throw it into the ocean.throw a fit say i demand a smart car.
