Can i place an infant seat in front of my smart car?

i brought a smart car few wks ago and am going to pick up my neice in it tomorrow, not sure what rules are with car seats as its only 2 seater. any help would be great|||if it has front passenger airbags you are not allowed to have child seats in the front, wether theyre rear facing or front facing it doesnt matter. on impact if the airbags discharged a child could be easily seriously injured or killed|||I hate those cars. Overpriced and totally unsafe. You could have bought a Nissan Versa for less money. You would have a bigger, safer car, a back seat, better mileage, better ride, it's faster, quicker, handles better, and it's much better looking. If I were you, I wouldn't put ANYONE in the front seats. Those cars are a total rip-off. I tell my kids it's bad luck to look at them if you spot them on the road.|||think you can only plasce an infant in front seat if you can disable the passenger side air bag.

my granddaughter carries her child in a focus in the back but in her husbands warrior he can go in the front by disabling the airbag.

hope this helps

you could also check with the police to be sure|||Unfortunately you aren't legally allowed to. ALL children/infants have to go in the back seat. The reason for this is because the impact of the airbag on the front seats will hurt them or even possibly kill them.|||there is a law that says you can't put a chid seat in front of yur car. it must be inside the car and yes it can be in the front seat but must be of the type that faces backwards|||why to see if the car is smart enough not to run it over? You can place anything you want in front of your car. Hopefully not a small child.|||Your infant needs to be placed INSIDE the vehicle. You need to be sure the car seat can be properly secured, and turn off the airbag on the right side.|||why risk it get a bus
