When you buy an American Smart Car, does some of the profits go to Diamler in Germany?

If someone buys a smart-for-two, or the new 5-door they will be having, will some of the profits go to Diamler and Mercedes in Germany? Answers appreciated|||Sure, the parent company will receive some of the profit. Its not very much though. The smart is not a very profitable car, the thinking is Daimler is keeping them to pad their overall fleet mileage numbers, and as a future technology vehicle. ie. pure electric. I think 300 of them made it to N. America this year, mainly snapped up by corporate customers, utilities and such.|||Of course Germany will see some of the profit. DAG (Daimler AG, the German corporate head office) sells the vehicle to MBNA (Mercedes Benz North America) which sells the vehicle to the dealer and in turn, it is sold to the consumer. Each business unit will see some of the profit from the sale of the vehicle.
