This is on a diesel smart car and trying to figure out if in the manual drive we use fuel quiucker than if driving the automatic.|||In general it is, slightly, more economical to drive in fully automatic than manual.
Where a larger saving can be made, during the winter months especially, is to slip a sheet of card, approximately 33% of the radiator area, in front of the radiator.
This ensures a faster warm time and a shorter duration in which an enriched mixture is contributed by the ECU sensors.
