How does my geo metro get better gas milleage than a smart car?

Ive logged the miles on the gps and i currently get 44 city and 51 hwy and ive heard of people getting a lot more miles out of a gallon. My question is how do they get such better gas milleage than even the hybrids or even smart cars for that matter when both the smart and the geo have a 1 lter engine.|||Well... new doesn't necessarily mean better I always say. The Geo Metro was a replacement for the Chevy Sprint platform. Metro was engineered for nothing else other than economy ! Later versions were called Chevy Metros till it was replaced by the Chevy Aveo in 2001.

The "smart car " is a Mercedes Benz product, it is the shortest passenger car here for sale. Its mainly just a useful city car, it includes more modern software, engineering and fixing comes at a Mercedes Benz price.

The Diesel powered smart cars that sell in Europe offer better mileage than the US gas powered versions.

But don't trade in your Metro... with $5.00 a gallon just around the corner it's just plain "SMART"
