We put a deposit down on a Smart Car and have gotten the usual run around trying to get the deposit back. Just wanted to know if anyone else has gotten the run around?|||Not necesarily true Tom...depends on the laws in your state..In NY for any reason if a customer wants to back out of a car deal before taking delivery they can and the deposit is 100% refundable.|||the car becomes an "orphan". I bought one in Ca. The person who ordered it had a setback of whatever sort %26amp; the refund was returned. It had all of the options that we wanted %26amp; now it has a loving home %26amp; family.

|||I suppose people have, but once you put down a deposit and sign a purchase order, you are pretty much stuck into a purchase. If you later change your mind and refuse to take delivery, the dealer will keep your deposit to offset his costs, it's not a 'run around', it's what you agreed to in the beginning, and a normal way to do business.
