I'm looking into the Smart Cars and they aren't bad looking cars and very inexpensive. I want to make it cool so I'd probably throw some tinted windows, rims and HID lights. I also would want it to have fast acceleration. What would I have to modify in the car to do this?|||Skip the HID (they look stupid and everyone that has to look at them will hate you), aftermarket tints are almost always crappy, so skip them too, and a smart car with rims would be positively ridiculous looking. As for speed, most people take to swapping motorcycle engines in. Any sportbike engine will do, but try to go for one that gets wrecked by squids a lot, as the supplies will be plentiful. A gsxr motor should do the trick.

"You can turbocharge your Smart Fortwo. This will give you more horsepower and torque." You're an idiot, the smarts are turbocharged from the factory.|||You can turbocharge your Smart Fortwo. This will give you more horsepower and torque. The Smart Fortwos sold in Europe offer turbo forms of their engines. I really fail to see the sense of not offering a turbo form in the United States. The variant we have is really slow, and it doesn't really make the Smart any fun to drive. So a turbo kit will boost power, maybe 85hp - 110hp depending on the turbo kit that you have installed in the car.|||Not much you can do for power on this car.
Some people take the engine out and switch it with a motorcycle engine.
There is a youtube video showing a Smart Fortwo powered by a motorcycle engine. It's fast.
